Body fight time - 2011

Rifleman productions is aiming to premiere a new work Body fight time in 2011.

Body fight time will feature the same creative team as worked on Dark Tourists: Choreographer - Malia Johnston, Director/dramaturg - Emma Willis,and Composer/musician - Eden Mulholland (of Motocade fame). Director/Designer Andrew Foster will also work on the project in a design capacity.

The company would like to thank all those who supported the first stage development project and performances held in July 2009. Please watch this space for further details.

Rifleman Productions

Rifleman productions is the production company of New Zealand based choreographer and director Malia Johnston. The company creates, supports and promotes professional contemporary dance and dancers, and has a reputation for producing sophisticated new dance theatre work.

In addition to Body fight time (currently in development), the company has produced three major works, Miniatures, Terrain and Dark Tourists and toured them throughout New Zealand. Rifleman also presented work in Australia for the first time in 2008.

Malia Johnston

In addition to her work with Rifleman, Malia has been commissioned extensively to create work for other New Zealand companies such as Touch Compass Dance Trust and Footnote Dance as well as leading dance schools - The New Zealand School of Dance and Unitec School of Performing Arts. She is also the current Artistic Director of the Montana World of Wearable Art Awards - arguably New Zealand's highest profile performance event.

Work is available either by specific commission or by requesting an existing piece. The company also welcomes expressions of interest in Body fight time.
